Why Therapy?
_ Pain
is the portal to our liberation. Pain is part of the human
condition. We all experience it. It is our understanding of pain
that can make the difference on how we approach it. We can either see it
as something to be feared and avoided, to run away from, or we can face it
and reap the many gifts it has to offer us. These are the gifts of
Wisdom, Compassion, Understanding and Real Love.
To avoid pain is the path that most of us take because we do not understand it. To shield ourselves from psychological pain, we can choose from anything available to us and abuse it. This abuse creates a cycle of more pain and more excesses; they feed off each other until they eventually override our defenses. It is at this moment that we reach out for help.
The type of help that we seek is what will determine the scope of the benefits of therapy. We can choose a quick but temporary relief, that does not afford a deep learning of our Essence (True Love) or choose to experience the pain, and in the process, uncover the riches and personal growth that lay beneath.
